Strength

My light can never be snuffed out
I may need machines to breathe
This wheelchair just to move
The hands of others to exist
But my light can never be put out
I have a strength that can’t be seen
Only in my actions it manifests
Physical power may escape me
But the strength of my spirit and presence
Is stronger than steel and burns hot
My body has failed me
But my mind has not and will not
My integrity cannot be swayed
I’m fueled by the haters
But never consumed by hatred
Love is my true compass
Compassion is my guide
But please don’t fuck around
Thinking you won’t find out
Because my people
Are happy to take you to school
Choose kindness over hate
The choices are connection and life
Versus hatred and slow spiritual death
